Strategic Communications Specialist (Level II)
LOCATION: Los Angeles / Remote (Hybrid)
ABOUT THE ROLE
VentureScope is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to provide mid-level communications support across U.S. Space Force and Space Systems Command programs, with emphasis on technical, acquisition, and emerging capability initiatives.
This role supports the development of communication products and execution of high-visibility stakeholder engagements and events, including leadership briefings, industry forums, and mission-focused campaigns. You will help translate complex program and technical information into clear, decision-relevant content while ensuring messaging and engagement activities are aligned to mission priorities, acquisition objectives, and innovation efforts. Pay Transparency Range: $80,000 - $118,000 / year
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Support planning and execution of stakeholder events, working groups, and engagement activities
Develop and refine briefing materials, fact sheets, talking points, reports, and stakeholder engagement products
Translate technical, programmatic, and acquisition information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communications
Support development of integrated messaging aligned to program goals, mission priorities, and emerging capability initiatives
Assist in creating communication products for internal leadership, external stakeholders, and partner organizations
Coordinate with designers and technical teams to develop visually supported communication products
Support development and organization of communication deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder inputs
Contribute to innovation-focused messaging efforts, helping communicate the value of new and emerging capabilities
Ensure communication products are accurate, consistent, and aligned with program objectives
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience supporting communications for technical, acquisition, or mission-focused programs
Strong ability to translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate products
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting briefings, reports, or stakeholder engagement materials
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across technical teams and stakeholders
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint
Clearance eligible
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of relevant experience in communications, acquisition support, or related field
Bachelor’s degree preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting Space Force, Air Force, or defense acquisition programs
Familiarity with technical or mission-focused programs (space, ground, software, or emerging technologies)
Experience supporting stakeholder engagements or event coordination
Exposure to innovation initiatives or emerging capability efforts
