Visual Designer & Motion Graphics Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE
VentureScope is seeking a Visual Designer & Motion Graphics Specialist to support high-visibility efforts across the U.S. Space Force and Space Systems Command, with a focus on military space and emerging technology portfolios.
This role sits at the intersection of design, storytelling, and technical translation—transforming complex space and defense concepts into compelling visual products that inform senior leaders, engage stakeholders, and support mission execution.
This role supports complex acquisition, technical, and mission-focused programs by transforming technical, programmatic, and policy information into clear, compelling, and visually engaging communication products. You will play a key role in helping leadership and stakeholders better understand mission priorities, architectures, and innovation efforts through modern visual storytelling.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, enjoys working directly with technical teams, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality, end-to-end visual products. Pay Transparency Range: $90,000 - $135,000 / year
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design and produce high-impact visual products including graphics, animations, infographics, and videos supporting space and defense programs
Translate complex technical concepts and architectures into clear, engaging visual narratives for leadership, congressional, and industry audiences
Develop visual identities and branding elements including logos, style guides, and design systems aligned to mission objectives
Create and support briefings, presentations, and campaign materials for major program milestones and strategic engagements
Collaborate closely with engineers, program managers, and government customers to ensure technical accuracy and clarity in visual outputs
Lead or support the end-to-end production process from concept development through final delivery
Contribute to the development of modern, innovative approaches to communication and visual storytelling
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design, motion graphics, and visual storytelling capabilities
Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, compelling visual products
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Premiere) and presentation tools
Strong understanding of visual design principles (layout, typography, color, composition)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with technical teams and senior stakeholders
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of quality, consistency, and visual clarity
Bachelor’s degree in design, visual communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Clearance eligible
NICE TO HAVE
Experience supporting space, defense, or advanced technology programs
Familiarity with missile warning, space sensing, or aerospace architectures
Experience with 3D modeling and rendering tools (Cinema 4D, Maya, Houdini, etc.)
Experience developing animation for technical or mission-focused content
Understanding of modern communication strategies or campaign development
Additional skills in video production, writing, or interactive media
